A website redesign for Rock Point School

By Karen Wilkinson on Jul 8, 2020 4:04:00 PM

Rock Point School is an intentionally small boarding and day school for grades 9–12, situated on a beautiful parcel of waterfront land right here in the Burlington. It’s coeducational and independent, a positive alternative to more traditional high schools.

Marketing Partners has enjoyed a long working partnership with Rock Point, and designed and developed their previous website also. The recent redesign coincided with the Covid-19 remote learning phase this spring. Rock Point School built on their strong ties with the close-knit community of faculty, students, staff, and families though their physically distant–emotionally connected messaging. This was amplified through the new website, along with increasing content in multiple areas, and working with parents to give everyone ample support and the feeling of connection through this unprecedented time.

We loved the lede to this roundup article by Joi Sears in TriplePundit.

Most brands claim to have some form of social mission, but few act on it. Today’s winning brands are not only starting contentious, uncomfortable and socially-relevant conversations about the issues that matter, but they’re also getting off their buns and actually doing something about them.

Pat is quoted on the importance of diversity — of perspectives, experiences, identities, ideas, and opinions, in addition to the traditional demographic characteristics — and the business case for inclusive communication, particularly for the younger adults often labeled as Millennials.

Bird-Friendly Maple Program Launched for Audubon Vermont

By Pat Heffernan on Oct 7, 2015 10:30:00 AM

We're thrilled that after two years of research and planning, the Bird-Friendly Maple Habitat program materials we developed are available for participating producers to begin using this fall. Audubon Vermont has partnered with the Vermont Maple Sugarmakers' Association and the State of Vermont to develop standards and conduct field audits for producers wishing to participate.

Why

While maple syrup can look and taste the same, it can come from forests that are managed in dramatically different ways. Park-like maple monocultures may look tidy and increase sap production over the short-term, but they support relatively low numbers of birds and bird species. These same forests are also less likely to be able to respond to the stresses of insect outbreaks, disease or a changing climate.

Peg Devlyn

By Dave Bowers on Oct 10, 2012 9:00:00 AM

The Marketing Partners team has lost our co-founder, dear friend and valued colleague with the passing of Peg Devlyn. It is difficult to put into words the vital role Peg played in our firm from the very beginning. She was the woman with all the words, who knew just what to say and how to say it no matter the client or the situation. Peg was a great listener and a gifted writer with an ability to sift through the political minutiae, details and data to offer sage counsel, craft targeted messages and develop solid PR strategies for our clients. We learned from Peg that cooler heads truly do prevail no matter what the PR situation and we could always count on her to provide keen insight that made everything “right with the world.” Despite the many health challenges she faced throughout her life, Peg never complained and always put the firm’s clients first—she was warm and compassionate and always offered a gentle smile to others. Thoughtful, sharp, witty and wonderful…she will be deeply missed.
