Is it The Accidental Creative or The FredCast? |
|
Pat's pick for podcasts: In a rare moment of indecisiveness, I find myself unable to pick just one favorite podcast, so two it will be - The Accidental Creative and Fredcast.
And since the latest research shows that 72% of podcasts are listened to on a desktop computer, you might want to know that while listening to one of my picks could be considered work-related, there's no doubt the other is an off-hours passion. Now I'm not with the majority here because my podcast listening happens in one of three places: as I work out in the gym, on long car trips, or set up in the kitchen during a cooking marathon. No matter the location, I've found these two podcasts are the ones I listen to first. The Accidental Creative is a delightful and wide-ranging conversation for anyone charged with creating on demand. Although self-described as "an online space for creative pros and artists to learn to be more productive and remarkable," I'm confident anyone reading this, whatever your career or field, will hear many tidbits of interest. Subjects range from tackling creative blocks or barriers, to the latest trends and happenings, to interviews with an eclectic range of guests. Recent guests have included favorite Seth Godin, musician and thinker Stephen Nachmanovitch, and Lisa Johnson, co-author of "Don't Think Pink.". The Fredcast is is a cycling podcast for roadies ( as opposed to mountain bikers), and specifically for recreational and endurance cyclists. Each session starts with a news segment on the pros on the racing circuit -- that's the part I skip -- then moves on to a potpourri of features on cycling gear, ride reviews, and interviews. The session ends with a selection of Podsafe Cycling Music, which despite the fact I'd never even consider cycling outdoors with headphones on, I've found always leaves me feeling upbeat and energized. |
